Condolences

Condolence From: Grant & Karen Hughes
Condolence: We had the pleasure of knowing & being a friend to Shirley during all the years that she resided at Allendale. She was such a lovely lady who was loved & admired by residents, staff, & volunteers. Shirley had a beautiful smile & singing voice. She always enjoyed being involved in many different programs at Allendale (& never missed going to church & singing or humming the hymns).
We will always fondly remember Shirley & offer our sincerest condolences to all of her family & friends.

Condolence: Dear Karen, Your Mom will always be remembered to me as "Mama Dunks", a wonderfully warm person who, along with your Dad, welcomed me into your home and cottage during my teenage years. I have so many fond memories of her, so cheerful and positive, and always up for some fun. I cherish those memories.

Condolence: I have fond memories of my friendship with Shirley while we were neighbours on Elite Rd. Your family also provided babysitting services for my youngest daughter Karen who is now in her 50s with two teenagers ! Sending my love and sympathy to all.

Condolence: Karen, I am sorry to learn of your mom's passing. She was a lovely lady and it was a pleasure to have her as a client of the Day Program. Hard to believe it's been five years since Shirley attended the program but I clearly remember her and your dad Gerry at our various functions. How lucky they were to have such a wonderful life together!
Take care, Tracy

Condolence: What a great lady! While I've only know Shirley for the past 2.5 years, she became very much a part of my life during my daily visits with my wife, Marilyn, at Allendale. Marilyn was Shirley's dinning room mate from the beginning of her stay, later they became roommates. Shirley was a wonderful person, and I'll miss her a lot. Rest in peace, Shirley.

Condolence: One beautiful human being!!! I loved looking after Shirley when she was with us at Martindale. Always smiling no matter what. Would help you with anything. Loved her husband to death and family. I really missed her when she went to Long Tearm Care at Allendale. Enjoyed my visits with her at Allendale. Did not remember my name but she always said “I know you”.Nice to hear Shirley and Gerry are back together.

Condolence: A fixture in my Six Mile Lake life for more than 40 years. She taught me so much about love of family and friends and, as the youngest of the group, always made me feel special and important. There was always a place for me and my brothers at the cottage dining benches and, somehow, she made more food always magically appear! I live the lessons she helped teach me.... She is loved, remebered and terribly missed.
