Life Story for Lornette Mitchell

Lornette Mitchell
At the age of 99 years, Lornette found peace and took her last breath on December 15, 2017 at 8:15am, surrounded by her loving daughter Bonnie and loving grand-daughters; Sharon, Karen and Natalie. Lornette was predeceased by her husband Lorne Mitchell (1993) and son Lornie Mitchell (2016). She is survived by daughters; Bonnie (Victor) Beaulieu, Georgina Few (predeceased by Leslie), and sons; Bill (Carol) Sheppard and Donnie (Brenda) Mitchell. Lornette leaves behind 19 grandchildren and 45 (soon to be 46) great-grandchildren. She absolutely adored children and babies. Lornette was the 16th child born into a family of 20 children. Life was difficult, but she became the ultimate caregiver having to work hard at farm chores, cooking, cleaning and other house chores. She was the last surviving sibling, as all 19 brothers and sisters had predeceased her over the years. Lornette was a lover of Bingo, card games, word searches and the casino. She loved to win and had a true competitive spirit. Considering her declining health in recent months, she exhibited an extraordinary will to live for as long as possible and demonstrated unimaginable strength in her final days and hours. We will miss her unconditional love and endless stream of kisses. Love ya millions. Family and friends are invited to visit at the McKERSIE-KOCHER FUNERAL HOME 114 Main St. E. Milton 905-878-4452 from 7-9pm on Monday, December 18th, 2017. The funeral service will be held in the funeral home Chapel on Tuesday, December 19th, 2017 at 11am. As expressions of sympathy, memorial donations in memory of Lornette to the Sick Kids Hospital would be appreciated by the family.
