Obituary for Jeffrey Madigan

It is with heavy hearts and profound sadness that we say goodbye to Jeff, who died suddenly in Toronto on Thursday, November 6, 2014. Much loved husband of Mara. Devoted father of Katelyn, whom he adored and was the centre of his world. Jeff will be deeply missed by his sister-in-law Vanina Dal Bello-Haas and her husband Tom Haas of Hamilton and his sister-in-law Bruna Dal Bello-Hickey and her husband Terry Hickey of Etobicoke. Loving uncle of Liam and Michaela and cherished son-in-law to Joseph and Lena Dal Bello of Milton. Jeff will be remembered by his Auntie Joy Metcalfe, his Auntie Mary Fisk, his cousin Margaret Metcalfe, and his England family. Predeceased by his loving mother, Kathleen Madigan who he can now chat and have a nice tea with in heaven, with their dog Bart by their side. Jeff will be remembered fondly by many friends and family and will be dearly missed by his Scotiabank Family.
Jeff grew up in Aurora and Newmarket, where he developed his passion for hockey and went on to play with the Selkirk Steelers Junior A Hockey Club in Manitoba from 1984 to 1985. Jeff was a die-hard Montreal Canadiens fan, who hated the Toronto Maple Leafs, and hated the Boston Bruins even more. GO HABS GO!
Jeff attended Wilfred Laurier University where he lived just one street over from his future wife Mara, unbeknownst to the two of them at the time.
Jeff started his successful career at Scotiabank on November 4, 1991 and worked as a dedicated employee in his position as Director until his last day.
Jeff maintained a normal family and work life, never being defined by his illness. He was fiercely strong and independent in his ways and thinking, with an uncanny memory for sports stats. Jeff touched many lives with his charm and wit, and his humorous long winded stories will be treasured by many. He will be remembered for his overly generous nature, his deep love for his family of three, with his greatest success being the love of his life, his daughter Katelyn. Jeff will be truly missed, but never ever forgotten.

Family and friends are invited to visit at the McKERSIE-KOCHER FUNERAL HOME 114 Main St. E. Milton 905-878-4452 from 7-9pm on Monday, November 10 and 2-4pm and 7-9pm on Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Celebration of Life will be shared on Tuesday, November 11, 2014 at 8:15pm. Church service will take place at Holy Rosary Catholic Church 139 Martin Street Milton on Wednesday, November 12, 2014 at 10:00am followed by interment at Evergreen Cemetery. THE FAMILY WOULD LOVE AND APPRECIATE IT IF FAMILY AND FRIENDS WOULD WEAR MONTREAL CANADIENS JERSEYS, T-SHIRTS, OR EVEN THE COLOURS OF HIS BELOVED HABS (RED, WHITE AND BLUE) AT THE VISITATION AND CHURCH SERVICE.

As expressions of sympathy, a donation in memory of Jeff to the Kidney Foundation of Canada would be appreciated by the family. The family would like to remind everyone to please sign their Organ Donor Card and express their wishes to their family.
